Country Analysis of Environmental Law and Procedures, World Bank and Ministry of Environment and Forests. Government of India. Consultant to Louis Berger. 

As a team leader, with Louis Berger Consultants, main objective was to assess three major sectors – National Highways, Thermal and Hydroelectric Power and Industrial projects being undertaken in different parts of the country and the level of compliance to environmental concerns. It entailed physical survey, public consultation, examining the project and impact on the environment. On the basis of studies in each sector both sector specific and general guidelines were formulated.

Formulation of Environmental Guidelines for Urban and Regional Planning.    Consultant to German Technical Cooperation (GTZ)

 The project involves formulation of Guidelines  to provide a planning methodology to address the environmental concerns, which need to be taken into account in order to meaningfully achieve the objectives of Sustainable Development.

Modelling and Impact Assessment Component of the India – Climate Change Impact and Adaptation of Coastal Cities Study: A case Study of Kolkata.World Bank Project. Consultant to IIT(D)INRM

 

The World Bank in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank and the JBIC Institute decided to carry out an assessment on the impacts of climate change on major coastal cities in Asia. The city of Kolkata, India was selected as one of the candidate cities. The study aimed at evaluating the impacts of climate change with respect to social, economic, and environmental viewpoints on the basis of identified scenarios. In the case of Kolkata these sources include riverine flooding from Hooghly River, flooding due to local rainfall, flooding due to storm surges and some combination of these three.

 

Environmental concerns for Disaster Management Noida and Greater Noida.

 The Project involved preparation of environmental guidelines for Disaster Management of the twin cities of NOIDA and GNOIDA, in the suburbs of Delhi. Analysis included causes for likely disaster and the impact on various landuses, number of affected people and disaster response in land use allocation 

Environmental and ecological consideration for Regional Plan for National Capital Region. Consultant to NCRPB

The Project involved  formulation of Environmental andd Ecology paradigms for NCR. The Reports runs to 4 volumes and is an environmental guideline for Regional Planning.


Environmental Compatibility of Industrial Land Uses with other Land uses, Central Pollution Control Board, Government of India. Consultant to CPCB.

The study examined 4 towns in four states with different levels of industrial development.  The pollutant load and compatibility with other land uses was examined, and locational guidelines prescribed

 Study of Environment and Ecology of NCR, for National Capital Region Planning Board Consultant to (NCRPB)

The National Capital Region of Delhi covers 30,242 km2 area, containing diverse ecological concerns. This study examined the concern and developed an ordered matrix of action programmes to achieve sustainable environment in the area.
