Urban Planning World Bank funded Thimphu Urban Development Project, Bhutan. Consultant to Scott Wilson Kirkparik As urban planning expert, I was mandated to assess the area improvement programme being undertaken with World Bank funds. Six areas of varying sizes were selected for implementation of the Thimphu Master Plan. Evaluation criteria emphasis was on equity, economy, implementability and long term sustainability. Detailed existing land use base was prepared and each infrastructure option was evaluated against costs and benefits.
